Swimming in cold water on November Rain
Do you remember that cult song? November rain by Guns’n’Roses. 8 minutes and 59 seconds long – long for a song, but short for swimming in cold water. Yeah, we can do more!
Today was raining cats and dogs! The conditions outside were too extreme to even take a dog (or cat) for a walk. We waited and waited for the rain to stop and almost decided to rearrange our swimming plans for tomorrow.
It was already getting dark and the rain simply didn’t want to quit. Luckily, at 16.30 sharp the rain gave its way to the Bora (Slovene Burja) – a powerful north-east wind, characteristic for the autumn-winter period, which usually brings the sun after the rain.
Yes, tomorrow it will be sunny, but today it was really challenging to jump into the water, not to mention changing afterwards. Today we practised static swimming – trying not to be taken away by the waves and current and stick to the shore.
Swimming in cold water is something most beneficial you can do for your health, meaning – body, mind and soul. So, go and swim!
